Free Credit Repair Forums – Time Well Spent, Or A Waste Of Time?

I think it’s fair to say most people who have credit problems, and have internet access, spend a good amount of time doing research online to resolve curb their credit crisis. And running a bunch of credit repair and finance oriented sites myself, I get asked quite a bit whether I recommend this approach to education and empowerment.

If you are sort of dancing on the same ledge, checking out different offers, exploring the various pockets of expertise online, etc – my advice is very simply keep it up! If it is working for you, and you feel empowered and emboldened by the information you learn, this is without question, the ideal approach to credit repair. My feeling is, very simply that WE ALL need to continue to learn, educate and inform ourselves, always – most especially in areas that we are weak. And if your credit score stinks, guess what? This is an area you could use some background in!

So all peachy on the forums, right? I’m going to give it a very qualified “yes”. The qualification is this: You have to be able to separate the quality info from the BS, and be willing to gather, cull and assemble the different pieces you pick up into one cohesive strategy. If you are have the same attention deficit disorder that I do, you will probably be the type to like your information neatly packaged, prepared and served up on a hot fresh dish of organizational delight..:-) So I find I do best when I buy books, guides or audio cd’s I can listen to while I’m on the move. I used to, and this is the complete and god’s honest truth, visit every credit repair forum I could find and SPEAK the posts I found instructive into a digital tape recorder and then LISTEN to myself talking about credit repair while I went about my day. This is a big reason why I didn’t’ have many good friends during the period when my credit stunk – no matter how many good forum posts they listen to, your friends will always want to put on the radio or some music, especially while driving..:-)

The bottom line is – get informed. BE aware! No the laws that work for you and be familiar with the ones that don’t. If you are willing to take action with the information, a good forum is an invaluable resource. If you are someone, who like me – wants to cut to the chase and get the straight scoop without having to hunt for it – buy a book. But none of this stuff is hard to learn, and for most of us who have been flat on our financial backs before – it is the greatest source of redemptive reading you can do.

With the right information, everyone, including YOU, can fix their credit, quickly, easily and ethically with a minimum of muss or fuss. Don’t let them tell you its too expensive, or too hard – it’s not, self help credit repair is actually the most AFFORDABLE investment you can make in your families future!
